Professor Zhang Yingzong, who led the study, stresses that depression is not merely an emotional disorder but a critical public health issue associated with significant health risks. Early intervention is vital, especially within the first 180 days of diagnosis, when the mortality risk is eleven times higher than that of non-depressed individuals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
