SCI can cause the following signs and symptoms:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:61px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<ul style=\"color:#4e98ff\" class=\"wp-block-list has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-172f2915ed357fa920443505fe99479c\">\n<li>Loss of movement<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Loss of or altered sensation, including the ability to feel heat, cold and touch<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Loss of bowel or bladder control<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Exaggerated reflex activities or spasms<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Changes in sexual function, sexual sensitivity and fertility<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Pain or an intense stinging sensation caused by damage to the nerve fibres in your spinal cord<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Difficulty breathing, coughing or clearing secretions from your lungs<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:59px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left has-medium-font-size\">Traumatic spinal injury is highly prevalent and has poor patient outcomes with a low recovery rate and a high disability rate.
