class=\"has-text-align-left has-medium-font-size\">Synchronized EEG, EMG and video recordings are used to monitor the animal behaviour to evaluate the sleep stages as well as seizure severity in epileptic mice. Brain regions are targeted precisely and the effect of test compounds can be assessed. In vivo electrophysiology can be used to correlate the real-time effects of <strong>drug candidates<\/strong> on neuronal activity with the plasma concentration of the drug. Using EEG electrodes placed over the scalp surface, the electrical signal is captured and recorded. <br><br>In humans, scalp EEG is a key tool for non-invasive recording of brain activity and the diagnosis of epilepsy.
